For too long fashion magazines have only featured actresses and models who conform to a very specific body type, but thanks to a new wave of plus-size super models (we're looking at you Ashley), magazines are starting to diversify.

This month we’re so happy to see two high profile magazines have turned the spotlight onto two incredibly talented plus size actresses.

Chrissy Metz, the 36-year-old star of ‘This Is Us’ features in a vintage-inspired pin-up shoot for Harpers Bazaar, an offer that came as a surprise even to her.

She told the publication: "When I first heard Harper's Bazaar wanted me to be sexy I was like, 'Who, me?' I knew y'all were edgy but this is incredible—it's validation."

Meanwhile, the April cover of Nylon features ‘Empire’ actress Gabourey Sidibe, who admitted in her interview that after starring in ‘Precious’, one magazine editor refused to feature her on the cover because she was ‘too overweight and dark to be the cover girl’.

We really hope that editor sees this shoot.

Stunning though these images are, the best news is that both interviews focus on more than just weight and body image, which really is validation for these incredible women.
